Washoe VINE Is Now SAVE
Nevada's replacement is called SAVE, short for Survivors, Advocates, Victims, and Enforcement. WCSO says Nevada VINE ended in August 2025. SAVE took over from there. The Attorney General's statewide notice fills in the timeline. SAVE notifications began at midnight on August 28. VINE registration stopped at 9 a.m. that same day. The old VINE search and notification capability ceased at 8 a.m. on August 29.
Those dates reconcile two public descriptions. WCSO summarizes the old system as ending August 28 at 9 a.m., while the state notice separates registration from the final search shutdown. For a current Washoe County check, use Nevada SAVE. The generic VINELink page is historical now. So are the old telephone instructions.
SAVE covers people in custody or under supervision within Nevada's participating data scope. It is a status and notification tool, not a mugshot source, a full booking history, or the final court record.
Check a Washoe Arrest on SAVE
No account is needed to search. Enter a name, or an ID if you have one. Partial names work too. The instructions ask for at least three characters of each name, separated by a space. Shared names are common. Never pick a result from the name alone when the live record offers other matching details.
- Open Nevada SAVE and choose the public custody or supervision search.
- Enter the full name, a supported partial first-and-last-name pattern, or the known ID.
- Review all matches and compare the identifiers and custody details the live result provides.
- Open the likely record and note the status, agency or facility context, ID, and time checked.
- Register separately if ongoing release, transfer, or return-to-custody alerts are needed.
The official SAVE search screen is the current statewide entry point.
The live site sets its own search fields. Use it rather than a saved screenshot. An empty result is not conclusive. SAVE says its data updates only periodically and is not an official record. Someone released from custody may drop off, while a fresh jail intake may not have reached the statewide system yet.
Washoe SAVE Result Fields
Results show custody or supervision status within the system's scope. Exact fields can change. Treat every item as time-sensitive status data, not a permanent criminal history.
| Result element | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name or supported identifier | Helps separate people with similar names; confirm against the official source. |
| Custody or supervision status | Shows the person's status when the participating data last updated. |
| Agency or facility context | Indicates where to direct a follow-up; it may change after transfer. |
| Offender or record ID | Provides a more precise reference than name alone when available. |
| Notification options | Lets a user enroll for supported changes after selecting the correct person. |
Registration stays useful even after a person drops from a current search. Nevada says an enrolled user can receive a return-to-custody notification. That is why searching and registering are separate actions. A release alert marks a custody event only. A transfer alert tracks movement. For a disposition, use Washoe courts, and for the underlying booking or incident record, use WCSO or the arresting agency.
Register for Nevada Custody Alerts
The official account supports phone, email, or text alerts. Enrollment can be anonymous, per NDOC, in English or Spanish. One registration covers all Nevada custody and supervision. It is free, built for custody movement notices rather than photographs or court decisions.
- Use the official SAVE registration page rather than an old VINELink enrollment link.
- Create the account or anonymous registration supported by the live form.
- Find and select the correct person before attaching alerts.
- Choose phone, email, or text delivery and complete any confirmation or PIN step shown.
- Keep contact details current and follow the instructions in each alert to confirm the event.
The Nevada SAVE registration screen is separate from the public search.
The official SAVE account page carries the current fields and terms. Follow what is displayed there. SAVE lists 866-393-5445 as a 24-hour support line, plus NVSave@ag.nv.gov for email questions answered within three business days. Release notices can still go out during blackout dates. Never lean on one automated message. Verify any urgent event with the holding agency.
Nevada's VINE Transition
Anyone enrolled under the old VINE system should confirm their SAVE contact details. Notifications should still work too. The state transition notice urged users to re-register. Old bookmarks, phone numbers, and app instructions may be obsolete. An outdated page can linger in search results. The WCSO VINE and SAVE notice explains what changes for Washoe County.
The WCSO page confirms that Washoe users should move to the statewide SAVE service. The VINELink brand is still a common search phrase. The name stays in context for that reason. But current instructions must lead to SAVE. Search and registration remain separate, updates arrive periodically, and statewide coverage does not include every custody authority.
Washoe VINE Check Limits
SAVE cannot replace the WCSO live roster. That matters most for a brand-new Washoe County booking. The roster refreshes every 15 minutes. Still, arrest, transport, intake, roster posting, and SAVE synchronization are separate steps, so intake may not finish that fast. Start with the Arrested Today route. Then call Washoe County Detention at 775-328-3062 if a current detainee is missing. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE custody require their own official locators. SAVE is not the NDOC Offender Search either. It also gives no Washoe court disposition. A person can move from county pretrial custody to state prison, federal custody, immigration detention, supervision, or release, and each sits in a different system.
Washoe Custody Channels Compared
Match the tool to the question you need answered. Pick the channel built for that custody situation first, and bring in a second one only when a different question comes up.
| Channel | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| WCSO Inmate Search | Does the person appear in current adult Washoe County jail custody? |
| Nevada SAVE | Does the person appear in covered Nevada custody or supervision, and can alerts be set? |
| NDOC Offender Search | Is the person in the Nevada state-corrections population? |
| BOP or ICE locator | Is the person held in the relevant federal or immigration system? |
| Washoe courts | What formal charge, hearing, plea, dismissal, judgment, or sentence followed? |
The Washoe Sheriff Android app shows booking details too. Its listing lists housing, charges, bail, and court information. But it is a lookup tool, not a release-alert service; SAVE handles the alerts.
Custody Status Is Not Guilt
A SAVE match tells you custody or supervision status at one moment in time. It says nothing more. Booking charges can change after arrest. They may be amended, reduced, dropped, or settled through trial or plea. Bail, release, transfer, and a return to custody are status events. They are not final answers. For the final disposition, use the Washoe court case inquiry. Sealed, juvenile, and other protected records stay out of public view. A missing record is not an invitation. Do not rebuild private details from unofficial sources.
